so like my sister just got a new dog (she has two now, a boy and a girl) and my mom always gives her treats and toys to take home to the dogs when she comes over so last night my mom had these blues clues stuffed animals and for like 5 whole minutes she was explaining how the pink dog was a boy and the blue dog was a girl but it was really important to her that the girl dog had the pink toy and the boy dog had the blue toy and I was just like ……… literally none of this is real mom

also I just googled this because I always like to fact check things before I post them and apparently magenta was a girl too? even though I vividly remember her being a boy? but like it doesn't even matter because they're dogs

In late spring 1970, Joni Mitchell flew off to Europe. Her passionate love affair with Graham Nash had become troubled as she feared marrying a second time and what that might do to her creative life. At the end of May, Nash received a telegram from Joni that said simply “If you hold sand too tightly in your hand, it will run through your fingers. Love, Joan.”

It was over.

Later that year, Joni Mitchell wrote “River”. It says it all.

Over her career, Joni rarely played “River” in concert. Perhaps it was too personal. Perhaps it was just too honest. This is from a concert in London in late 1970.
